Raga Piano Course: A Series on Indian Classical Ragas and Music Theory This course series, "Raga Piano Course," is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Indian Classical Music theory and its practical application on the piano or keyboard. Each course in the series will delve into three to four ragas, accompanied by relevant theoretical concepts. The primary objective is to facilitate the acquisition of a broad repertoire of ragas and deepen your knowledge of Indian Classical Music. The focus of this series is on melody, reflecting the fundamental nature of Indian Classical Music, which is primarily melodic rather than harmonic. Consequently, there will be minimal emphasis on left-hand accompaniment for the piano. Who Should Join? This series is ideal for: Piano and keyboard players with a background in Western music who wish to explore and learn Indian Classical Music in depth. Anyone aspiring to learn Indian Classical Music on the piano or keyboard. Individuals interested in Indian classical vocals can also benefit from this course, as the theoretical and melodic principles are transferable. Basic, intermediate, and advanced piano or keyboard students are welcome to enroll. Please note: This workshop's teaching methodology is not suitable for absolute beginners with no prior musical experience.
